This past Saturday, October 2nd, City Youth participated in a service project for one of our mission partners, The FORGE for Families. The FORGE for Families’ focus is on the long-term development of students in Houston’s Third Ward by providing an encouraging after school environment. The City Youth’s specific service project was focused on the campus playground.

The mission of the church, and City Church in particular, is dependent upon a heart of service. This summer we have been working through the book of Philippians, where Paul writes, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves” (Phil. 2:3). Our prayer is that in honoring and serving others, City Church is a beacon of hope and beauty for a time often defined by division and discord.
